A record number of attendees for this years Christmas meal as well - 31 of us at the Hatchet Inn making merry well into the evening.

December Shootover Day
Picture
Absolutely fantastic shootover day held at Hawkhurst by kind permission of Gamekeeper Fran Briley.

Very cold to start to the day and the game were running FAST and keeping ahead of the dogs in the fields but as the day progressed they started to be found and downed by the guns.

Lots to learn, lots of crop and woods worked by the dogs who handled a lovely bunch of people.

Dog of the day was Boris who expertly handled Jim Ayling into position all day !

October Club Day

Partridge Day
Wednesday 25th September saw our first ever partridge shoot over day in Hawkshurst in Kent - courtesy of Mr Fran Briley. Overnight torrential rain and a howling gale gave way to an improving morning and a really rather pleasant afternoon. Great ground, hunty pointy people and fantastic dog work. All images courtesy of Alan Woodward of Alfee Images. Dog of the day was awarded to Jess Russ and Otto.  New dates will be announced at October club day.

All proceeds from our 2019 Working Test raffle and cake sale went to "Casting for Recovery".

This charity enhances the quality of life of women with breast cancer through a unique retreat program that combines breast cancer education and peer support with the therapeutic sport of fly fishing. The program offers opportunities for women to find inspiration, discover renewed energy for life and experience healing connections with other women and nature. CfR serves women of all ages, in all stages of breast cancer treatment and recovery, at no cost to participants.

I am absolutely delighted to announce that we raised £204 which Mandy and Gina handed over at a CFR retreat. It is without doubt the most we have ever raised. THANK YOU to you all !!!!!!

A reminder for any members competing for the Bob Sparks Trophy - there are only three main rules :

1. You must be a TV HPR member.

2. It is YOUR responsibility to submit and check your results. Please take a look at the achievements page and let us know if any of your results are missing.

3. To be eligible you must have been to at least 50% of our club days each year - ending on the last day of the WT season (30th September). Normally this would be 6 times out of the previous 12 months but as this is our inaugural year there are only 8 qualifying months (Feb - Sep).

Our sincerest thanks go to our host who allowed us to take over for the day.

Sponsored by Red Mills Engage and with Alan Woodward capturing images of the day (Alfee Images) it was one special event !

Test Valley HPR would like to wish Patrick and Vanessa many congratulations now they are Mr & Mrs Head. Excellent to see that even in the middle of their wedding the dogs still get a walk !!!

Club Day Sunday 3rd February
Well that went better than we ever expected !!
Our first club day saw -5 Centigrade with a light dusting of snow but we still managed split retrieves,  seens, blinds and a dummy launcher to test steadiness. The "Try a shotgun" area for anyone who hasn`t handled one before proved very popular.
Happy Members - Happy Committee !!
